Girl Scout, Daisy & Brownie Programs
at the Nature Center
Roaring Brook Nature Center offers a wide variety of programs that can take place either at the center or at your school.
The Nature Center itself has a small interpretive building and 5 miles of hiking trails on about 160 acres of a state-owned wildlife preserve. The Nature Center also offers general seasonal walks or walks with a particular focus (for example birds, reptiles, etc.).

Daisy Scouts
We offer seasonal nature walks designed to help scouts’ awareness and appreciation of their natural environment.
Brownie, Junior & Cadette Badges!
We can help you fulfill portions of the following Girl Scout badges and other portions of the Journey activities:
- Brownies: Bugs, Senses, Hiker, Letterboxer.
- Junior: Flowers, Gardener, Animal Habitat, Goecacher.
- Cadette: Trees, Trailblazing, Animal Helpers, Night Owl.

Call the Nature Center to discuss possible projects.
Service Badges
Call the Nature Center to discuss possible projects such as planting / weeding our Native Plant Bird & Butterfly Garden or the Porritt Wildflower Trail.
Scout programs are on weekdays afternoons and Saturdays.
One-hour program
$11 per Scout; No charge for scout leaders/chaperones
$11 per non-scout sibling over the age of 4
$11 per extra adult
Two-hour program
(for Junior Scout Groups only)
$15 per Scout; No charge for scout leaders/chaperones
$15 per non-scout sibling over the age of 4
$15 per extra adult
How to Register
Please call to set a date and time for your program. Once a date and time have been set, you will be sent an invoice confirming your registration and balance due. Payments can be made before your program over the phone or by check. If you’d like to pay when you arrive to the nature center, we accept cash, check, or credit card.
Refunds & Rescheduling
If your Troop must cancel due to inclement weather, every effort will be made to reschedule on another date without additional charge. Advance notification is necessary in order to reschedule a program without loss of deposit.
Additional Information
These are OUTDOOR PROGRAMS. Please make sure that scouts dress appropriately for the existing weather conditions. Remember, it may be colder or wetter here than at your house. For additional information, please contact the Nature Center.
